2019 Scholarship Application
The Scholarship Committee of the Mary Parker Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of the 2019 application period!
The Mary Parker Foundation (MPF) will award scholarships to select individuals who require financial assistance for their post-secondary education. This scholarship will be available for the 2019-2020 academic year ONLY. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of individual merit. The Mary Parker Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to empowering lives of the next generations. The Foundation has awarded over $300,000.00 to metro-Atlanta students who are attending colleges and universities throughout the United States.
Scholarships are awarded at the 6th Annual “Raising Other Generations” Scholarship Gala. The gala will be held on June 8, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Atlanta, 265 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA 30303. Recipients must be present to receive the award. If not, the award will revert back to the Mary Parker Foundation. Gala tickets can be purchased through May 24th. The ticket cost is $100.00 each. The price is $125.00 starting at 7:00 pm on May 24th through June 3rd.
Each MPF Raising Other Generations Scholarship recipient will be awarded a minimum $500 scholarship that can be applied towards tuition, room and board, books, and other fees related to their education. The funds will be disbursed in the name of the student. The scholarship will be paid in two equal installments during the 2019 – 2020 academic year. Each semester, the scholarship recipient must provide documentation of full-time enrollment, achieve a 2.5 or higher GPA, provide their first semester transcript and second semester class schedule. If the student attends only one semester, the unawarded funds will revert back to the Mary Parker Foundation Scholarship Fund. Award will be for 2019-2020 year ONLY. Recipients will be eligible to reapply during their college years. However, this not guarantee future awards.
Award Installment 1: Awards must be picked up or a mailing address provided by June 30 for their first installment of the scholarship or the award will revert back to the Mary Parker Foundation. The letter of acceptance (graduating high school students) and the Fall Semester class schedule must be submitted before the initial award is distributed.
Award Installment 2: Students must provide the Fall semester transcript with a minimum 2.5 GPA and the Spring semester class schedule to receive the second installment of the scholarship award. In addition, if the second installment has not been picked up or a mailing address is not provided by January 31, the award will revert to the Mary Parker Foundation.
ELIGIBILITY – Applicants must meet all requirements to be considered.
All applicants must:
Complete the online MPF Scholarship Application 2019 by 11:59 pm Friday, May 3, 2019. A confirmation email will be sent immediately after successful application submission. If you do not receive a confirmation email, your application was not received and will not be considered.
Be a student:
who will graduate from an accredited high school May/June 2019 and will be attending a U.S. college or university as a full-time student in the 2019-2020 academic year; or
currently attending a U.S. college or university as a full-time student and continuing as a full time student at a U.S. college or university in the 2019-2020 academic year.
High School students must provide confirmation of acceptance into an accredited college, university, or technical institution. Also, the first semester class schedule must be submitted to receive the Award. The scholarship will not be awarded to applicants without this notification.
Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5
Demonstrate high scholastic achievement as well as outstanding leadership participation in extra-curricular high school and community activities. The recipient must have a personal passion and drive to succeed, demonstrate strong core values, and participate fully and with enthusiasm in school or in their community.
Complete an essay explaining the benefits of and why you feel you deserve the MPF Scholarship
Deadline: All application materials must be received no later than 11:59 pm Friday, May 3, 2019. *Incomplete applications will be disqualified without any consideration to partial information received.

Mary Parker Foundation Scholarship FAQs
What do I need to include in addition to my online application?
High School and/or College Transcript: High school students must submit a copy of your official high school transcript. If available, make sure that SAT and/or ACT scores are listed on the transcript. If you are currently enrolled in college, please submit an official current college transcript. Current college students are not required to submit high school transcripts; however, the Foundation may request them under certain circumstances.
SAT and /or ACT Scores: If they are not listed on your high school transcript, please include a copy of your student score report. You must upload your scores directly into the online application.
Letters of Recommendation: The Foundation wants to know what others have to say about you. Please submit three letters of recommendation from teachers/professors, religious leaders, coaches, employers, or others who have important roles in your life and know you best. Keep in mind that one recommendation must be from your school. All Letters of Recommendation will be submitted into the online application system.
Class Photo. High School students must include a senior year book style photo with their application ex. black suit (jacket)- white shirt/blouse. Photos of the scholarship awardees will be included in the gala program booklet. College Students must present similar style photo to be included in the gala program booklet.
What Test Scores and GPA Do I Need?
Although standardized test scores do not solely reflect academic merit, the scholarship committee does note SAT and/or ACT scores when evaluating applications. Please keep in mind that the scholarship committee considers all aspects of the student’s application. Copies of ACT or SAT are not required for current college students.
How Do I Apply?
All applicants must complete the online scholarship application. Please make sure your application is submitted online by 11:59 pm Friday, May 3, 2019. What Do I Need to Do to Receive the Scholarship Award for The Spring Semester?
Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA
Take a full course load (12 credit hours). The Foundation will only award funding if you maintain at least 12 credit hours. Notify the Foundation immediately if you plan to drop below 12 credit hours.
At the completion of the Fall semester, complete the Online Renewal Form by January 15 and upload your transcript/grade report. You must submit your Spring Semester class schedule Scholarship checks will be sent in late January / early February.

Where Can Students Attend College?
Scholarship recipients may attend any four year non-profit accredited institution in the United States.
When Will Students Be Notified of Scholarship Decisions?
Students will be notified of award decisions on or before May 24, 2019.
Will I Have to Attend the Mary Parker Foundation “Raising Other Generations” Annual Scholarship Gala to Receive My Award?
To receive the scholarship award, scholarship recipients must attend the 2019 Raising Other Generations Gala, June 8, 2019. Scholarship recipients will also be required to participate in a video interview in preparation to receive scholarship.
If the student has not picked up or provided mailing instructions for their first installment of the scholarship by June 30, 2019, the award will revert back to the Mary Parker Foundation. The first semester class schedule must be presented before the award is distributed. The first semester transcript with a minimum 2.5 GPA and second / Spring Semester class schedule must be provided in order to obtain the second installment of the scholarship award. If the second installment has not been picked up or if mailing instructions are not provided by January 31, 2020, the award will revert to the Mary Parker Foundation.
